MAKE A DIFFERENCE as our MARKETING PROJECT MANAGER

CircuitWest is looking for a Marketing Project Manager to take the reigns of an exciting, sector-building, arts marketing project. Described as a “centralised marketing resource”, this role will work closely with professional arts presenters and venues across the regions of Western Australia to develop, and assist with the implementation of marketing strategies and initiatives.

The low down:

  • Fixed term Contract, 12 month, full time position with the possibility of extension
  • 38 hours per week
  • $57,000 – $67,000 per year + superannuation
  • CBD location, close to public transport

The aim of the role is to assist presenters to:

  • Build audience attendance and engagement;
  • Build brand awareness of the presenter in the community and with key stakeholders; and
  • Increase capacity, knowledge and skills of regional presenter staff.

This is a hands-on role providing services and skills development. It will involve working with several organisations with various levels of marketing skills and resources and as such will require a tailored approach. Marketing experience and excellent communication skills will be required and experience in providing training is highly desirable.

Position Description: Marketing Project Manager

CircuitWest is seeking a marketing professional to undertake the role of Marketing Project Manager.  The position will report to the Executive Officer of CircuitWest.

This position will work closely with regional performing arts centre managers and their marketing teams to develop, and assist with the implementation of marketing strategies and initiatives. This will include assistance with developing marketing plans, processes and tools. These resources may also be used for the CircuitWest Online Hub.

The position does not seek to replace the marketing resource in the regional performing arts centres but work alongside them to develop skills, best practice and provide support to these centres to increase audience attendance.

Where required, the position will assist in the development of community engagement activity, to align with marketing strategies and centres’ existing community engagement plans.

The successful candidate will be adept at:

  • Conducting market research;
  • Anticipating future market conditions;
  • Utilising the latest technologies and marketing methodologies;
  • Liaising with presenters and their current marketing personnel; and
  • Thinking strategically to assist the development of a strategic marketing plan.

The aim of the role is to assist presenters to:

  • Build audience attendance and engagement;
  • Build brand awareness of the presenter in the community and with key stakeholders; and
  • Increase capacity, knowledge and skills of regional presenter staff.

The provision of services to regional presenters will be determined in conjunction with each centre.

This is a hands-on role providing services and skills development. It will involve working with several organisations with various levels of marketing skills and resources and as such will require a tailored approach. Excellent communication skills will be required and experience in providing training is highly desirable.

As this is a skills development project for regional presenters, a skills development program must be developed by the successful candidate. The position will integrate the skills development role with practical development and coordination of marketing activity for up to two tours.

The project manager must possess:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills;
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects concurrently and liaise effectively with the individuals involved;
  • Highly developed analytical skills;
  • Comprehensive understanding of current issues in arts marketing; and
  • Understanding of marketing in a regional context.

The job will be full time, with hours to be worked between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. Some work outside of these times may be required. Travel will be required. This is a new position and as such the role will need to be flexible to respond to any change in focus that may occur during the project life.

The marketing project manager will require a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum three year’s professional experience in this area, or a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role.

Essential criteria

  • Comprehensive understanding of current issues in arts marketing – particularly marketing in a regional context
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities
  • A professional qualification in marketing or arts management
  • A minimum 3 year’s professional experience
  • Highly developed social media skills
  • Experience managing stakeholders
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Desirable

  • Experience in providing training or coaching.

This position is not appropriate for a new graduate without market experience.
