CircuitWest is developing a five-year strategy for touring the state of Western Australia.
This project represents one of the most comprehensive studies ever undertaken into touring in WA.
The aim of the strategy is to increase the viability of regional touring circuits throughout WA and access to performing arts by small, medium and major Western Australian arts organisations.
Push Management has been contracted by CircuitWest to develop this strategy.
From late January to early March, I will be undertaking face-to-face workshops in ten centres across the state. This follows a comprehensive industry online survey, a report from which will be distributed prior to the face-to-face sessions.
These workshops seek your input to help formulate concepts and programs to deliver better touring opportunities and outcomes.
So Lets Talk!
We want to hear from you, whether you:
- Are an artist, producer, presenter, venue or tour coordinator.
- Work with Local Government, an Arts Council or schools or community group
- Tour regularly, occasionally, or not at all but would like to.
- Tour through mainstream touring networks, specialist touring initiatives, or in your own way.
A list of workshop times and venues are detailed below.
Please register your interest by emailing rachael@pushmanagement.com.au or clicking on one of the links below.
There will be other opportunities for input throughout the project, but this session will be a key opportunity to present your views and hear others, in person.
The project is being undertaken in the broader context of the five schemes of the Creative Regions program, an investment of $24M by government managed by WA Dept of Regional Development and the WA Dept of Culture and the Arts.
Your input is key to developing a long-term future for touring that meets the needs of West Australian communities.
I look forward to meeting with you.
Regards
Rick
