FRINGE WORLD Festival is an annual multi-arts Festival held over four glorious summer weeks at multiple venues throughout Perth. It is an open access Festival and artists from all over the world can register to be involved in a variety of genres including cabaret, circus, comedy, music and musicals, dance, theatre, film, multimedia and visual arts.
Since getting started in 2011, FRINGE WORLD has become a major highlight of Perth’s summer calendar with the 2016 Festival attracting free and ticketed attendance of more than 900,000 at over 750 events across 150 venues.
The Festival engages with the widest diversity of population of any event in Western Australia and the 2016 Festival recorded ticketed purchasers from households in every postcode in the Perth metropolitan area.
Along with the annual Festival in Perth, FRINGE WORLD entertains people right across the state and has previously toured De Parel Spiegeltent to Karratha for the Red Earth Arts Festival and to Geraldton for G-Fest.
Headline and highlight Fringe shows have been presented in partnership with regional arts centres in Albany, Bunbury and Geraldton and programs have been produced over a number of years at the Shinju Matsuri Festival in Broome.
The Outer Fringe program has toured over the last four years and has entertained kids and families with a Fringe program that has toured to over 12 communities in the Wheatbelt, Goldfields, South West and Great Southern regions
