About the Venue

Located 75 km south of Perth, Mandurah Performing Arts Centre (MPAC) is sited on the waterfront overlooking the idyllic Mandjar Bay . ‘Mandjar’ means “meeting place” in Noongar, and the site is significant to the Bindjareb people who have inhabited this country for millennia. What better place to develop a contemporary meeting place dedicated to arts and culture!
Awarded the APACA Drover Award as Performing Arts Presenter of the Year in 2013, MPAC has embarked on a journey to become a leading Centre for the Arts in Australia.
This journey started through realisation of the nascent potential for the people of Mandurah and the Peel Region to more fully embrace arts and culture as both practitioners and patrons, and, in so doing, developing a life-long engagement with the arts.

MPAC is driven to develop our new vision by the acknowledged benefits of arts and culture to the wider community including: enhancing economic development, providing a means for meeting and connecting with people, promoting a positive community identity, enabling people to feel socially included, offering enjoyment and stimulating critical thinking, and increasing both cultural understanding and the quality of life for the people in our catchment.
MPAC’s program is a mix of commercial hires for performance, conferencing and trade shows, community hires and MPAC Presents events. MPAC Presents consists of:
- Alcoa Mandurah Art Gallery exhibition program
- Morning Melodies
- SPLASH! Children’s Holiday Program
- Act Belong Commit Public Program
- Making Waves Education Program
The Centre’s facilities have been designed around magnificent glassed foyer areas, which offer sweeping waterfront views. Boasting various adaptable venues such as the majestic Boardwalk Theatre, the Fishtrap Theatre and the Alcoa Art Gallery, the Centre can cater for all your performance and conference requirements. Other facilities within the Centre include a Dance Studio, executive and standard meeting rooms and retreat areas.
