WA Showcase 2022 – The Next Stage Launched

CircuitWest announced the official dates for WA Showcase today.

From the 25th to the 28th of July Subiaco Arts Centre will host the 2022 event based on the theme, the next stage, what are the critical directions for the future?

The key themes will be:

First Nations Focus –Arts leaders from across WA will come together to discuss performing arts and the critical directions the industry must take.

Accessibility – We all think we are accessible but are we really? Disability and arts industry experts including DADAA and people with disabilities will tell us how to be leaders and what can go wrong.

Living in a Digital World – 2020 shook the most moribund of us into the digital world – now hear from leaders Chris Howlett and Adele Schonhardt from the Australian Digital Concert Hall and video creatives on how to be brilliant and successful in the world of screens.

Making Work in Communities – Despite the growth in funding and amazing work, many of us still can’t get our heads around how to do this. Hear stories on creatives and communities that set audiences alight with their production.

Can Art Be Good for Us – Research says it definitely can – hear from Dr Christina Davies about a project to change how we think about improving our mental health.

As always it will showcase WA’s finest arts producers and artists pitching a vast range of high-quality work from across WA.

Presenters will be in Perth from every region and more than 40 communities as well as all the metro venues to talk and program performing arts.

Whilst there has been hesitancy in WA due to COVID, CircuitWest expects this to be a full conference.

It is working for the first time to get some of the sessions streamed for those who can’t attend.

It’s so important to be together if we can, so we can move to the next stage in performing arts in WA.
