Presented by vocal powerhouse Dean Misdale, Life’s A Drag takes you on a reality-shaking rollercoaster ride of what it takes to be a QUEEN!

Awarded the Best Cabaret & Variety Show at Fringe World 2022, Dean’s diva moments come together in one show-stopping performance as they take you behind the scenes in the world of drag, recalling side-splitting real-life encounters from their appearance at Adele’s Perth concert and their starring role in Priscilla the Musical.

The show gets even more exciting as Dean also brings you “Disco Queen“, featuring all your favourite disco tracks from the 1970s and 1980s and accompanied by a live band ensemble.

The show is performed in cabaret or theatre style—very conversational and direct to the audience. Imagine listening to your best friends recall stories of their life in a lighthearted and humorous way intertwined with songs everyone knows and loves.

A unique triple threat Dean is a multi-talented Singer, DJ and show-stopping Drag Performer.

Dean has had an exciting career thus far as a Musical Theatre performer undertaking a variety of exciting roles and unique characters, including Mr Bumble in Oliver and Bustopher Jones in Cats. Playing the role of Killer Queen in We Will Rock You The Musical in 2018 & 2019, Dean was the first in Australia and the second in the world to play the role in Drag. He then went on to play the role of Khashoggi in We Will Rock You The Musical in 2020, starring alongside Australian Idol Winner Casey Donovan as Killer Queen. 2021 saw Dean step into the Australian Icon that is Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical in the role of Miss Understanding, the sassy and quick-mouthed host of the Cockatoo Club.

Dean is a multi-award-winning artist, having won Entertainer of the Year at the 2019 Proud Awards and most recently took home the best Cabaret & Variety Show at Fringe World 2022 after winning the weekly award in the same category for two years running. Dean is versatile and multi-talented, being one of the few Drag artists in Australia who not only sing LIVE but is also a DJ, Musical Theatre performer and Actor. As a regular performer on the Fringe and Cabaret circuit, Dean is a standout with countless sell-out seasons and receiving standout reviews for their shows Mad As Hell The Musical and Life’s A Drag.

Dean has also made several television appearances in and out of drag, including Perth Telethon, Reality Talent Shows X-Factor and All Together Now, online commercials for Uber and the City of Vincent and recently filmed a television pilot for a brand-new Perth-based scripted comedy “Open Mike”.

Dean has also been involved in a number of online campaigns for brands and businesses across Perth, including – Uber, TransPerth, GRAI, City of Vincent and Roll Up WA.
